If you’re hungry for a fresh new kitchen, you’re in for a treat! This year’s kitchen trends are starting to come to a boil. Whether you’re looking for inspo for a kitchen remodel or just like to stay on top of the latest home trends, we’re serving up this year’s kitchen must-haves.

2025 Kitchen Design Trends

1. Architectural and Aesthetic Trends

As is common with fashion trends, kitchen trends have a way of coming back. While colorful and traditional options used to be a staple, they disappeared for a bit in lieu of sleek, modern, and white-on-white. Now we’re seeing more of a soft, colorful aesthetic come back into popularity.

Arches Over Angles

Modern flat lines and sharp angles were in for a while, but now we’re seeing a shift back toward breaking up boxy shapes with round arches. Arches offer a great way to add character, soften a room, and create a unique design that stands out. These can take the form of alcoves, room dividers, and even decor.

Traditional English-Style and Old World Elements

One of the biggest shifts back to older trends is in the overall shift toward English-style kitchens. Some the hallmarks of this style trend include:

  • Wooden countertops
  • Ornate woodwork and accents
  • Farmhouse-style sinks
  • Warm colors (creams instead of whites)
  • Stone elements
  • Open shelving
  • Rustic lighting

This classic style has never truly gone completely out of fashion, but we’re seeing more and more homeowners choose this aesthetic.

Terrazzo Tiles

2025 terrazzo tiles are a modern twist on a 50s classic that allow you to pull in fun colors without feeling overwhelming. We’re seeing terrazzo as a popular choice for kitchen floors. But the trend doesn’t stop there - some homeowners are using terrazzo in unique ways, like for backsplashes or nooks.

2. Natural Elements

Bringing the outside inside is a huge overall trend for 2025. Kitchens aren’t missing out on this design choice.

Wood Features and Stonework

We’re seeing natural elements coming back into vogue - like unpainted wood and elegant stonework. Some homeowners are even opting for large-scale stone tile backsplashes or glass tile backsplashes over the ever-popular subway tile.

Say Goodbye to Bright Whites

Colored countertops and warm colors are coming back with a vengeance. We’re seeing white colors are used more as an accent than the focal point. While white cabinets and matching white cupboards were popular even just 2-3 years ago, we’re seeing a rise in painted cabinets. You’re more likely see cabinets painted sage, fawn or putty than white. In some cases, homeowners are opting for even bolder colors like a vintage orange or a bold blue. This is another way to pull in natural elements through intentional color choices that echo the outdoors.

3. Subtle Features

There’s always a big need for practicality in the kitchen. However, we’re seeing practical elements incorporated subtly so they don’t take attention away from the overall design.

Discreet Storage Spaces

This year’s storage trends include concealed fridges, appliance garages, and pull-out cabinets. These keep your countertops clear while still keeping your essentials easy to access. This results in a more organized, beautiful space no matter how many appliances you have. Pop-up outlets, seasoning drawers, and other hiding spots are also being used to reduce visual clutter.

Under Cupboard Lighting

Lighting is so important in your kitchen, but installing excessive ceiling lights can be distracting and unappealing. We’re seeing more and more homeowners choose under-cabinet lighting as a way to increase visibility without being overwhelming. These lights can be hooked into an app, which means they only need to turn on when you need them to. Speaking of smart lighting, let’s move on to our final trend

4. Smart Tech

With modern technology, you can have it all. You can have a beautiful, styled kitchen without bulky, clunky tech taking up physical space.

Subtle Smart Appliances

Smart appliances and little kitchen luxuries are a huge trend in 2025, but they are a lot more subtle than past technologies. Instead of statement pieces, we’re seeing tech incorporated into the appliances you use every day to make them smart. Simple luxuries like touchless smart faucets, reverse osmosis (RO) faucets, smart fridges, smart stoves and app-controlled appliances are all popular this year. If your smart tech is seamless and discreet, you’re doing this trend correctly.

Hidden Modern Cooktops

A new 2025 kitchen trend is advanced cooktops that don’t even look like your traditional cooktop. They come with all the amenities without the appearance of your traditional appliances. Two of our new favorite trends are PITT countertops and Infinity invisible induction cooktops. PITT countertops have gas burners embedded inside of a large-scale countertop - which gives you superior cooking ability with ample prep space. Infinity cooktops are ultra-high tech burners where heat goes straight to the source (an iron pan or pot) without heating the rest of the countertop. Both options are modern twists on a standard stove that provide more innovative cooking and prep options.

2025 is shaping up to be a strong year for kitchen trends. However, it’s important to remember: a well-designed kitchen isn’t just about looks - it’s about creating a space that enhances your daily life. If you're considering a remodel or a new build, now is the perfect time to explore these trends and bring your dream kitchen to life.
